Kaffeinated Conversations

Hey Booklovers

This is a weekly feature I have decided to start this year. It will include the books I read in the past week and my thoughts on current book trends and topics (including movies/series based on books) and the books I want to read. I also want to talk about what other book bloggers are sharing or their opinion on anything bookish. I just felt like as a book community it will be nice for everyone to gather around once in a while and share what they love so much – books!

How’s your reading going so far this month? Just a small update on my feed – I have taken a small break from bookstagram as I don’t have time nor the inspiration but am hoping to be back as soon as I can. I just feel like it’s all about the posts and likes and nobody really cares about books itself which is why I started bookstagraming in the first place. I didn’t expect any rewards but the game of follow and unfollow does make me feel hollowed out. I have been meaning to host a giveaway but am waiting for few packages to arrive which will take time plus my follower count continues to dwindle up and down and I don’t want to waste my money on someone who isn’t a real admirer of another person’s work. But am hoping I can keep one next month.

Did you miss my last review? Check it out hereΒ The Last Caliph by T.L Williams

I also wanted to share that I haven’t read anything in February so far. I finished all my review copies by January end and I think my Feb 2nd? Am not sure. But all my posts so far for has been scheduled as I don’t have access to a desktop presently and there’s only so much I can do on 5.2 inch screen. I am hoping to start reading from next week but I have enjoyed this break. I really wanna get into the fantasy genre but it can take time to finish and there’s this constant need to post that really puts me in a spot.

How do you manage to do both? Have you thought of taking a break? Where do you get inspiration from? I have been meaning to make a special place for my books and photo spot but I dunno when and if it will be possible. I really wish to though and hopefully will be back at both soon.

Do share your thoughts!

Cheers! XO.

  1. My reading speed’s gone down too. Since December!! I think it’s called a reader’s block πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ but three months is too much of a block. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚
You can read as many books as you want when you have the mood to read. Write your review and keep it for rainy day like these. πŸ˜‰

  2. I’ve been stuck in a reading slump since mid-January so it’s difficult! I have quite a few books I have to review but I am not in a good spot to read now, which may affect my feelings towards the book, definitely not ideal. I definitely thought of taking a break from Bookstagram but I really like the community there. I’ve made a few friends and I look forward to what’s going on in their lives. In regards of books, we all read different things and it kinda sucks how the books I read may be different to everyone’s which made it a little bit difficult to discuss.
